The Toyodas have opened Black Beard ("Kurohige") Ramen on Gorge Road without an official ribbon cutting. For now, they're adjusting their menu as they try to get the popular Japanese item to the neighborhood.

Eldest brother Tokubumi -- who goes by “Boom" -- has been making his own noodles the past five years.

“My brother’s noodles are the best," said Tokohisa Toyoda, one of the BYOB business' partners. “So we all followed him into the business."

“Some people say it is too salty, but I like it like that,” said customer Alex Kim.

Locals have been waiting to scoop up quick bites at the 20 or so seats, in an atmosphere that features television, conversation and Japanese pop playlists.

Home and business delivery began Tuesday. Weekend deliveries will come -- just not right now.

The Toyodas are too busy.
